Number Nine.
Together As One.
Welcome to the One Root Festival. The gathering of people
for community progress through (re)presentation of food,
arts and music from various cultures. The spirit of togetherness
continues to echo the success of our existence. The planning
of this regional festival exemplify the possibilities available
when individuals accept to work as a unit towards a common
goal.
It is
not by chance that the graphic representation of the theme
resembles the number 1. In case the message was missed,
now that it is pointed out, many of us now “gets it”. Awakening
that spirit of “getting it” is our mission at the festival
planning level. We hope to touch every individual in attendance
with the message of beauty in diversity. Honoring the existence
and
contribution of many cultures rejuvenates a society and makes
our community even more vibrant.
No man is an Island and no single culture makes our country.
The attractiveness of our multicultural community is the
envy of other nations. Our country is stronger by the collective
contributions of many cultures therein. Accepting this strength
would make us rejoice in the spirit of ONE in our immediate
regional community. Together As One. (TAO) By coincidence,
this spells out a unified Eastern religion way of life; TAOISM.

We stand to gain greatly when we humbly come together as
a people. Seeking the commonalities that bind us will help
us overcome the differences that separate us. Thank you for
visiting with us today. We hope you will be exposed to many
flavors of cultures presented through food, arts and music.
Special thanks to the committee that continue to be the
torch bearers of unity message in our community. We thank
the sponsors and supporters that make it possible to continue
bringing people together to experience many other cultures
outside of their own. To everyone: We are having a festival
because you are participating. Together we won. Together
we have done it again!
