Majestic
Vocalist, songwriter
and arranger Mr. Majestic, who is originally from Jamaica W.I. Now
based in N. California is no stranger to the reggae music scene.
He began his singing career at the early age of eight years old
as a member of the Wesley Primary School Choir. He went on to perform
with many of the prominent Sound Systems in Kingston including "King
Stereophonic". He migrated to the USA in 1984 and performed
with the N. California band "front Line Rockers"; in 1985
he performed with Jamacian reggae band "Mabrajk" Mr. Majestic
released two singles in 1986 on the Kaya Label Ras Lion Production
saw Majestic performed at Reggae in the park (San Francisco) with
Dubb Addxx and Hurricane Gilbert in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Ras Lion
had a vision of the two making music, his vision became reality
with the release of the album" Never Find A Man Like We"
produced by Majestic, Hurricane Gilbert, Trent Gumbs, Terrance Heatter
and Ras Lion Production. The single from the album "Sensitivity"
went number one in Florida and the Bay Area, which took the duo
on tour through Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Upon their
return the album received the 1997 Reggae Album of the year Award
from Emerald Records in Nashville, Tennessee. Sensitivity's video
was aired on Soul Beat (Oakland), Irie Vision (san Francisco) and
Earl Chin's Rockers TV (new York).
The duo's reggae pop sound brings audiences to their feet; their
unique blend of styles is respected and admired by industry professionals.
They have shared the stage with artist such as Buju Banton, Beenie
Man & The Shocking Vibes Crew, Pato Banton, Justin Hinds and
the Dominoes, and Culture to name a few. What makes "Mr. Majestic"
so unique and promising is his hard-core dance-hall style. His creativity
in writing, arranging and singing powerful Roots-Rock-Reggae music.
Mixing the dance-hall style doesn't stop there. Mr. Majestic is
presently working on his debut album simply titled "SONGS OF
KINGS" to be released on CD in the summer of 2004. Mick Martin
and the Blues Rockers Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers has been
voted six times as "Best West Coast Blues Band" by Real
Blues magazine in Canada and three times as "Best Blues Band"
in the Sacramento Area Music Awards (SAMMIES), becoming "Hall
of Fame" inductees in Spring of 2001, the Blues Rockers have
released 12 CDs on Blues Rock Records. Their latest is "Tip
of the Hat," a tribute to British blues on DIG Music, selected
by Blues Matters! Magazine in England as one of the best American
blues releases of the year. America's Blues Revue magazine called
it, "Irresistible!" This follows the all-original "In
One Ear," which was released on Blues Rock Records in early
2001 simultaneously with "Blues Rock U.S.A.," a two-CD
retrospective culled from the band's previous 10 releases. Veterans
of three European tours and numerous music festival appearances,
the members are: The band Members playing with Mick Martin are,
Steve Schofer on bass and keyboards, Jim Papastathis lead guitarist
and Bruce Pressley on Drums.
